One of the tests that my career coach recommended was doing the Myer’s and Briggs test which is supposed to tell you more about your personality.  It was a pretty simple test, over 200 checkbox style questions looking at all facets of what you like / dislike, responses in social situations, etc.  The test I took was on the website  I found the results reasonable accurate for how I felt I was and acted, so I asked the rest of my family to do the same.  It was a fun exercise and gave us something new to talk about vs Covid-19.

Chris Crowle (Male, 44)

First PlaceINTJ – The Mastermind

I was thinking, “on man, this is quite the precocious title”, but afer reading the rest of the types they tended to “pump up” all the results, likely to make you feel good about who they flagged you as.  The synopsis from is quoted below:

“INTJs are analytical problem-solvers, eager to improve systems and processes with their innovative ideas. They have a talent for seeing possibilities for improvement, whether at work, at home, or in themselves.

Often intellectual, INTJs enjoy logical reasoning and complex problem-solving. They approach life by analyzing the theory behind what they see, and are typically focused inward, on their own thoughtful study of the world around them. INTJs are drawn to logical systems and are much less comfortable with the unpredictable nature of other people and their emotions. They are typically independent and selective about their relationships, preferring to associate with people who they find intellectually stimulating.”

This makes sense to me and describes me pretty well.  These tests that I’ve done (and I’ve done a lot if you look through my blogs) all give a fairly accurate depiction of me if you use that all together.  No one test was all seeing and all knowing.  Each was about 85-90% accurate and together worked quite well.  So in other words, if you want to learn more about me, read the rest of my blogs. 🙂

Second Place – INTP – The Architect

Lisa Crowle (Female, Practically Perfect in Every Way)

First Place – INFJ – The Counselor

Second Place – ISTJ The Inspector

These describe my lovely wife nicely.  She needs to have skills in both of these areas to put up with me and the boys!

Daxton Crowle (Male, 15)

First PlaceINTJ – The Mastermind

So this personality type affects less than 3% of the population and is both me and Daxton?  Yikes!

Second PlaceISTJ The Inspector

Chase Crowle (Male, 11)

First Place – ESTJ – The Supervisor

I laughed out loud when I saw this result as this IS Chase.  He is constantly managing what we’re doing in the house, in the classroom and with his friends.  He’s a smart cookie and will probably end up being an Executive somewhere or maybe a politician (one of the good ones!)

Second Place – ISTJ The Inspector

I found it interesting, but not surprising,  that my boys take after both me and my wife.  It makes me want to try a few more of these with them so I can really figure out how to push their buttons. 🙂

Bonus Pic!

Me after a workout, then going out in the -16C weather.  Steamy!  I really need to learn how to smile in pictures better…
